Full Metal Jacket

Directed by Stanley Kubrick (<3), starring Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin and Vincet D'Onofrio. First of all, Stanley Kubrick is the MOST brilliant film director EVER and has never recieved the recognition he deserved. This is a great movie. Violent, abusive, destructive- very raw. It was a deep look into the minds of soldiers as they are brought down to where they need to be for the government to reprogram them to be killing machines. How far can they push a man? In this film, Kubrick shows us the deep emotions felt by some of the cadets and causes us to feel very little empathy for any the characters involved. I just never felt sorry for them- and I laughed my ass off all the way through boot camp. If you like war films, and enjoy verbal abuse- see this movie. It is a testament to the greatness of Stanley Kubrick.
